Now kids ages three to five can throw birthday parties year round. A Wish Come True This simple wooden toy fosters creative play and is a wonderful addition to imaginary kitchens everywhere. Use the wooden spatula to serve the cake and the fake candles to make a wish. This toy will make an excellent birthday gift for future bakers. Three delectable toppings -- strawberries, jellybeans, and gumdrops -- can be added to the top and the cake comes in a decorative box kids love. This delicious dessert is already cut into slices that fasten together with Velcro and easily pull apart. It also has a bright red serving platter and each of the six pieces is about the size of a real piece of cake. Also, as a well-made and durable wooden toy, it withstands child play and the paint won't easily chip off, even if it is accidentally dropped. Great for the imaginative child

by Mary D. Krenke from Los Angeles, CA United States on 2010-09-02
I purchased the M&D Birthday Party B'day Cake more than a year ago for my older granddaughter's 3rd birthday. She plays with it nearly every day. I'm now considering buying it for my younger granddaughter's 3rd birthday. This is great for the child who wants to have an imaginary birthday party on any day of the year.

Enduring toy that fosters imaginative play

by E. B. Glass from Decatur, GA on 2010-08-13
My daughter is on the cusp of her fourth birthday. She received this set when she turned two. I have been surprised at how much she has enjoyed this and how much use she got out of it. It went largely ignored the first year or so she had it, then one day she got it out and has played with it nearly every day sense. My daughter loves to decorate the cake; serve pieces to me, my husband, and her friends; she even seems perfectly enamored with putting it all back together for storage! I have seen a lot of imaginative play from her with this toy. Of course she puts on little birthday parties with it, but she has also come up with some really innovative uses for the various pieces. I would say that based on my daughter's experience, 3-4 is the perfect age for this set. I have given it as a gift and will continue to give it in the future. It's just that fun and adorable!

Much loved toy

by Tracy Sawyer from Yakima, WA on 2010-07-10
The Melissa and Doug birthday cake is played with every single day at my house. I have two girls, ages 2 and 4 and they love love love this toy. They enjoy constructing the cake together, putting it in the pretend oven; singing happy birthday to each other and then serving up the cake. I wish more toys were built like this one -- a toy that promotes imagination, creativity and cooperation. We also have the pizza and ice cream cones and all three are huge hits.

My Daughter's Favorite Toy

by Sarah from on 2010-07-06
This is my daughter's favorite toy. She is 3 & her 4 year old sister and 1 year old brother all love to play with this together. We love it!

No Thanks...

by jillybug from on 2010-07-02
One of my children was given this as a birthday gift, and while the kids like it okay and do play with it some, I have a few issues with it. First, as others have mentioned, there is no lid to the box. Annoying! Secondly, the paint does come off the pieces! Of course, being "food", kiddos are going to put pieces in their mouths to pretend-eat it. (Even though I always tell them not to!) It is very obvious which pieces have been in kids' mouths, due to the paint chipping and wearing off. Even if it's lead-free, it's not a great thing to have happen! Third, there are just too many little pieces for this mom's preference and I end up finding them strewn all through the house. And finally, it's just odd to me that the two of the cake toppings are jelly beans and gumdrops. Overall, I do not like this toy and would not recommend it to others.

Bad paint.

by teamelon from Redmond, WA on 2010-09-04
We got 3 dozens different rubber ducks from Amazon and this group is the worst dozen. The paint feels like it is not completely dried and it rubbed off on the bodies of the ducks. Also, these ducks do not quack/squeak because the blow hole is not on the bottom, it is where the mouth is; these ducks are more like water squirters.

Great party favors

by Matt Taylor from on 2010-08-09
The children at my son's birthday party loved the ducks. The only drawback is that they do not float upright in more than a 1/2 inch of water. But they do squirt water...a big hit with the kids!

Did not arrive in time for my daughter's birthday.

by Nine-Mile from San Antonio, Texas on 2010-04-23
This product arrived very late and the company did not care to do recompense me in anyway. That said, my daughter loved playing with them when they finally DID arrive. In fact she still does. They are great for putting into boxes and bowls and for counting. They DO NOT float properly, that is they float upside down, because of their small size. I do wish I had been able to put them on her cupcakes and had not had to go buy plain unadorned ducks at the local party store, but my daughter loves these so, I'll just warn you to buy way ahead of time if you want these for a birthday.

Rubber Ducky Fun

by veronica from MA USA on 2009-09-19
These duckies made an especially special splash when they came out of my 2 year old's pinata. These made a perfect filler and an awesome party favor. Another great filler were the ducky whistles. Needless to say, my son had great fun on his next bath!!

Baby Shower Favor

by jenjen from on 2010-08-26
I ordered the rubber ducks for my baby shower. I thought they are very cute and everybody loved the idea. The only con that I found is that some ducks have some paint blemishes. But for this price, I wouldn't complain!

SO CUTE!!!

Mini rubber duckies

by Bothayna Hassan from Doha , Qatar on 2010-05-04
These duckies are so cute . I got them for Aunt's baby shower and coz they are so mini I thought of adding little bit of more decoration to them . So I attached some chocolate and wrapped them in soft fabrics and tied it with a tiny plastic pink flower . The kids were happy with it . I just love those mini and adrable duckies .

Cute

by AL53 from on 2009-10-14
These were really cute, and the mini size was perfect for shower decorations. My only issue was that some of the paint was chipped off some of them, but I just used the ones that weren't chipped.

Good seller and quick delivery.

by Jessica Otero from New York on 2009-10-13
I purchased these novelty ducks for a baby shower. I used them to decorate a "New Mommy Advice Tree," and they were perfect size to hang off the branches. I placed some ducks around tables to decorate as well. I bought the mini ones and the bigger ones. Ducks are adorable and can be used as decorations or as bath toys for your child.

Nice variety of ideas

by Anoni Mouse from on 2010-07-09
I love this book. I have used it for family reunion activities, children's birthday parties, and homeschool ice-breakers. The author spells it all out in steps, even to the point of telling you what to read to participants in the way of instructions. The materials needed are mostly stuff you have around the house. It's my go-to book when I need to plan activities.

Easy to use

by Jean Hall from WICHITA FALLS, TX, US on 2010-07-08
I found this book easy to use for my high school/middle school student groups. I was able to flip through all the activities and find some that suited our needs perfectly. I didn't need anywhere near all the ideas included - just picked our favorites, and they were all big hits with the students. Now I've signed on to the fanpage on Facebook and get even more quick, fun challenges.

timeless and well-written

by Kare Anderson from Sausalito, CA on 2010-03-25
I just re-read this book and have shared it with several families in my neighborhood. Two teenagers up the street have customized their own version of some of these activities for school - now that's a compliment.

A regular book

by Gilvic Carmona De Jesus from P.R., USA on 2009-10-23
I really expected more from this book. I think it's a bit complicated in your organization. In addition, some exercises and challenges for the facilitator's answer is unclear. As a result there has been very helpful.

Lots of good ideas

by Mar from Illinois on 2009-10-09
I have worked with a small group of gifted Jr. high age students for several years and had run out of challenge ideas. This book is great! Instructions are simple and challenges are very doable for the students. I love it!

Birthday Songs: Games & Fun for Your Party!

by J. Bangert from on 2006-04-20
I bought this when my son turned 4. The first song, "Happy, Happy Birthday to You", I play every year on his birthday to wake him up. Tomorrow he turns 13, and as tradition carries on, I'll be carrying in the player to wake him up, with that special song along with me singing. The entire tape has cute songs for birthday parties, or just for little ones to enjoy while playing by themselves.

fun, but limited number of memory lists!

by Robert Nagle from Houston, TX United States on 2009-10-21
I love this game. I played it with my family, and we had a lot of fun. It is generally easy to play, doesn't take that long (an hour or less), isn't that hard, and is suitable for all ages. I think adults would enjoy it more than kids though. My main complaint is that to move, you have to memorize a lists of 2-5 things. Each list comes from 2 small booklets. Unfortunately after you finish all the lists in the booklet, you're screwed (sort of). There are enough lists in these booklets, and although from game to game you may forget the specific content of this list, if you play often enough it could become an issue. My guess is that after 5-10 times of playing it, you will have gone through all the lists and will have to start over. This doesn't seriously interfere with gameplay if you don't play it too often though.

Great game idea!

Bought this for my parents for Christmas. Since they have everything I thought this would be different. Unfortunately, I think they forgot I bought it for them!!!

Senior Moments is Wonderful!

by Ruby I. Young from New Market, TN , USA on 2008-11-23
I have had this game for quite some time. Over the past few years, my husband has been gradually slipping more and more into the disease of dementia. A couple of months ago, we started having Home Health care workers come in. Onc of them is a speech therapist, whose task it was to help him improve his ways to remember things. I brought out my "Senior Moments" game that I had had for some time. She liked it so much, I ordered one for her to use with other patients that she has. The game I have has been quite helpful in bolstering up his ways to remember what he needs to.

Senior Moments Board Game Review

by R. Landon from on 2008-01-12
My husband and I received this as a gift for Christmas from our teenage son. He had good intentions, and we had a good laugh when we received it, but when we actually played the game with some friends, we expected a little more of a challenge. A very senior person might find it a bit of a challenge, trying to memorize three out of five facts per question, but they might be better off playing Trivial Pursuit or chess.

Lots of laughs!

by Patty Ann from St louis, Mo on 2005-02-09
This is a board game that even kept my teenagers cracking up! It involves some strategy, but mostly memory skills and the ability to laugh at yourself.

Loved Birthday party bash!

by Just Me from on 2010-04-11
My daughter who is 8 loved this game! It has very fun party games that allows each child at the party to play and help decorate a pretend room that is setup for a party! Every child loved it here! I think it would be a great game for even a 5 year old up to 10 or so... The kids at our party loved it! It kept them entertained for about two hours! We had a sleepover so I need fillers! This worked great!

Fun for LITTLE kids

by Yimmie from Los Angeles on 2010-03-11
I bought this game for my 3 yr old son because I wanred him to have a game that he could play with at his skill level and it worked out well. About half the mini-games are fun for kids about 3-4 yrs old. A child beyond 5 or more experienced with games like Mario would be bored very quickly. The minigames are only minutes long (if that), so it's perfect for a toddler's attention span. I found this on the clearance shelf at Target for very cheap, so it makes Amazon's current price of almost $20 seem a little high for such a simplistic game.

Great game for 4 yr olds.

by Denise Duszczak from on 2010-01-08
We just bought this game and I'm so glad we did! My four year old daughter (5 this weekend actually) has been playing it ALL morning! She needed my help to set it up and show her how it works, but since then she's had no problem navigating through the menus and playing the games. She likes it so much that I will have to monitor how much she plays! The games are very simple, something which might be a downside for the older kids, but for the younger ones it's the perfect wii game. Also nice because there are a lot of different games but each one is very short, in line with their short attention spans at this age. Two words...simple and entertaining.

the younger the better

by W. M. G from Willmar, Minnesota United States on 2009-10-22
I got this for my 7yr old daughter for her b-day. While I'm not totally thrilled about it, she seems to enjoy it. Some games are way to simple. For example the pinata game, all you do is wack the wii-mote a few times and your done. On the other hand some games are a little more challenging like red light green light, rock climbing, or shooting the bullseye. Her 12 yr old brother said it was stupid. So overall I would say this would be better for the younger kids as it might be too simple and easy for the older kids. Also Amazon seems to have the best price around!

Like "Carnival Games" for little kids.

by Chel Micheline from SW Florida on 2009-08-12
If you are familiar with Carnival Games, then "Birthday Party Bash" will be very familiar to you. This is basically a series of mini-games for kids with a birthday party thrown in as a way to connect everything. Before starting, your child gets to choose the theme for their party. Then the fun begins- the more games your kids play, the more "components" they get for their themed party room- decorations, party hats, special chairs, presents, and cake. (There's also an option to play the games one at a time without the party, but we liked the idea of moving from game to game without having to pick what comes next.)The mini-games are cute, but I found their range a little strange. Some were very easy for my almost-four year old to play, and others, which *seemed* simple, wound up requiring lots sweat and concentration from my husband to just complete. The game does point out winners, but very discretely, so that kids of all ages and skills can play together and celebrate. The basic goal is to finish each little game so that more prizes for the party can be earned.Sometimes the game screens were a little confusing, too. For some games it would break into four separate screens so that each player had their own space to complete the task, and for others, the four players share the screen. These were the hardest for my daughter at fist- there's no clear designation which pointer belongs to which player, so at first there's always a bit of scrambling around trying to figure out what's happening. The birthday party is really nothing special. It's certainly cute, but definitely not a "birthday party in a box" as is suggested. I would not advise chucking out all your big party plans and inviting some of your kid's friends over to celebrate with this game. The graphics are cutesy, but not mindblowing. Also, you can't use Miis, which kind of stinks. My daughter LOVES her Mii and it's sort of a connecting link for her between the few games she can play. It's disappointing to get a little avatar instead. There's not many of them to choose from, either.Overall, this is a great title for kids. For the smaller ones, be prepared to help out a bit starting up the game, choosing options, and as they navigate from game to game. I'm not entirely sure that my daughter will choose and start up this game on her own (she prefers the two Diego games and the Dora games- she can start and play those completely on her own) but I think if we put it in for her, she'll really enjoy it.
