Is there any way that we can design our own picture design to put on a cake?
For cakes with pictures printed on them, is there any way that we can either draw our own picture and then somehow have it transfer on the surface of a cake? I don't know what you call those cake designs, but I really want to do this for my boyfriend. Please help.
A lot of graduation cakes have real pictures on them. they're also edible. The chefs who make the cakes use the pictures and copy them with something to print them onto the cake. I hope this helped.
When Simple Wedding Cake Designs Go Bad!
If you search the internet wedding forums you will find hundreds of stories of people ordering a unique design for their wedding cake and on their big day it turns up and looks horrible, putting a dampener on the reception.
One of the funniest simple wedding cake design disasters on ‘Yelp' is a lady that ordered a cake with fondant Ninjas as a little joke for her husband and received a cake that didn't have Ninjas as requested but Swastikas in the lace design. Although, as simple wedding cake designs go it was unique and they were the Hindu symbol rather than the Nazi one, it wasn't really appropriate for a wedding cake. The whole charade is on Yelp for all to read and quite funny reading.
You need to make it clear to your baker exactly what you want. This may involve pictures or sketches, the more detail the better. Don't take anything for granted as you must remember, the baker can't picture it the way you do so be precise in your description. Write it down in detail and run it by someone that doesn't know the design and see if they fully understand where you are going with your simple wedding cake design.
Take care not to pick anything that can be misconstrued like the Hindu peace symbol mentioned earlier which is a Swastika the other way round and quite offensive to many people. Try and see your wedding cake design through other people's eyes. How will your collective parents see it or the older generation in general? Remember you are going to look at pictures of this cake for years to come.
Simple wedding cake designs are safer and don't offend generally as everything about them should be subtle. Remember you only need to design a wedding cake that will feed 80% of the people coming. The general statistics are that 20% of the people won't eat the wedding cake so you can save money by not making it too big.
Many people these days have a mixture of fruit cake and sponge tiers so that you accommodate most peoples taste in cakes. I suppose if you wanted to please everyone you might have a fruit cake base, normal sponge 2nd tier and diabetic top tier. That should cover all angles and shows a caring and conscientious side to your personality. The diabetics at the wedding would really appreciate it as they are usually excluded from enjoying these events in the same way that the rest of us do.
Of course remember to keep the elderly relatives away from the cake area as they will be too tempted to eat your wedding cake before time as cake is the staple diet of the older generation. Remember… cake to an elderly person is just elevenses!
Just for the record… it's not true what they say about wedding cake, it doesn't really kill the wife's sex drive.
Take time over all the aspects of your wedding to get it right. Leave nothing to chance and you will have a great day and simple wedding cake designs will make this easier to achieve. You will have enough to deal with so don't overly complicate things. Remember, it's all about the two of you and your future together; the rest is just trimmings and fluff but we still want it to look nice.
