Children's Birthday Party Invitations
How should I handle this double birthday party?
My child was invited to a birthday party for the brothers a couple of years apart in age. The invitation has the names of children. My son barely knows one of them. Do you still buy a gift for both or just having the same age as my child?
I think it is disgusting that the father is doing a joint birthday party and invited you to "both." The father is spending half the money (one of the parts instead of two), suggesting that spend twice the money for two gifts instead of one. That is rude and I'm ashamed of that parent. If I were in the situation, I would do one of two things. First Instead, pass the game and give your child the gift of a friend next time you go to (school or play, or whatever). Or, go to the party with a gift for a friend of your son and card to the brother of a friend. If you feel you need a gift for the other guy, do not spend more than a dollar or two ... a jump rope or a car or something in matchbox this regard. Or you could really make a point and put the children the names of both in a present.
