Great useful cartridge

I got the cricut create for Christmas and I make cards so I got Birthdays and Beyond. It allowed for so many options and creative juices just flow. With layering techniqe you really can create beautiful cards or scrapbook pages. It is worth the money.

A great horror-film!

I haven't seen Happy Birthday To Me in almost 20 years,and I love the movie just as much as did back then.I will admit that the movie slowly develops,hence the storyline drags which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.But it's a classic film and it's very good,the ending is awesome!Rent it first before you buy...it's not for everyone.

Bad plot + bad acting = bad movie

I can't believe this movie has gotten any rave reviews. This has got to be one of the worst horror movies I've ever seen. First of all, I immediately guessed who the killer was. Well, sort of. There's a plot twist at the end that is one of the most ridiculous and implausible plot twists ever.Second, this movie didn't scare me at all...though I could tell this movie inspired the movie "Scream" by Wes Craven. Some of the scenes were very similar to that movie. The only suspenseful parts of this movie were the flashbacks the main character kept having. These flashbacks were the only part of the movie that held my interest and kept me from nodding off to sleep.And finally, the acting is really bad. With horror movies, especially with teen horror flicks, I don't expect the acting to be Oscar-worthy or anything, but I do expect their acting to be somewhat believable. What I got instead was overacting. For example, in one scene involving two people in a bell tower, this one guy was trying way too hard to look scary and creepy and ended up looking silly instead. So, to sum up: bad plot + bad acting = bad movie.

Guts and gore but nothing more...

This movie was as corny as they come. Though I do sometimes like a staleness to a movie for a good laugh. I felt the story was lame and the ending is odd. I would have the killer pegged as someone else...anyone else! However, I do like the amount of gore in this flick. It's really the only thing that kept me interested.

this isn't Little House on the Prairie

Melissa Sue Anderson gives a thought-provoking, if not over-the-top (and rather melodramatic) performance as the troubled and embattled Ginny Wainwright, in this '80s slasher film. The movie is almost like watching one really long home-video of a group of young college kids who get their comeuppance by a macabre killer. This is not the typical '80s slasher though because the film is notable for a bunch of reasons. First, we get to see Melissa Anderson in a new and exciting role; she's no longer playing the blind schoolmarm and for the first time really has a substantial role that people this century can relate to. She's a little theatrical, but that's just her way, and I love how she delivers her lines, as if she were reciting Shakespeare. The movie is also notable for its graphic murder scenes, which for its time was becoming more and more common. And finally, the movie is always going to make an impression because of its twist ending. You have to stay with it until the very end because I can assure you that nothing is how it appears.

Birthday CHEESE cake anyone?

Wow. An actual Birthday themed Horror film! Who would have thought!?! I can remember seeing this movie in the local video rental stores as a kid and being seriously unnerved by the cover art. I mean think about it. The look of terror in the guy's face only mere seconds before having a shish kabob skewer shoved down his throat is enough to evoke nightmares in any kid! The cover art is made with a specific center piece (someone about to be skewered in the face), with an all black back ground. It's a grim picture that is intended to grab your attention from the get go. Needless to say, it works. Ah' yes, the classic days of Slasher movies. They sure as heck don't make 'em like this anymore!HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME came out in the early 1980's, right after the success of FRIDAY THE 13TH. Slasher movies during this time period always seemed to require a holiday theme. After all, it worked for the Horror movies before this and it continued to work for a little while after. Movies such as HALLOWEEN and MY BLOODY VALENTINE were all successful films and became cult hits many years down the road.So where does HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME fall in? Well, for one thing it's not really a holiday theme, so you can't put it along side a movie like HALLOWEEN. Sure, everybody has a Birthday and it is a celebration that most people are familiar with, but it's not really a special holiday. I mean it's not like the government gives us a paid day off from work when it's our Birthday. At least not with any main stream jobs. Christmas is a holiday, not your Birthday. Similar, close, yet with a different vibe. So by using the Birthday theme as the Horror center piece here kinda' feels like scraping the bottom of the Slasher barrel. That being said, this is actually a pretty good little Horror film.HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME is enjoyable and fun like any Slasher movie, yet it's also very frustrating and confusing at the same time. Here's the story. Virginia is a troubled College girl with a traumatic past. It would seem that she has suffered a head injury in the past and is trying to recover from it during her time in school. Through various flash back scenes, she slowly gains pieces of her memory back, some more intense than others. Meanwhile, a killer is on Campus offing Virginia's friends one by one in gruesome ways. The bodies are never found, so the local police just dub them as "missing."There is more to the plot but by posting it on here, it might ruin the film for some. One of the biggest problems with this movie is how much it tries to trick you from beginning to end. Everything from a seemingly endless cycle of suspicious characters to tricky special effects (the ending seems like something out of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE for our killer) fills the plot of HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. It's a movie so bloated with the intentions of being shocking and a mystery, that it forgets one of the key elements to a truly good Slasher movie. Give it room to breathe and have fun with it! Some of the twists through the movie (especially towards the end) might just tick off some viewers. In my opinion, the director should have taken a note from FRIDAY THE 13TH and made this movie more of a breeze. Oh' well, it's a small problem really.Gore wise, this movie does have a few good scenes. Back in the day, the movie poster boasted that it had some of the most bizarre deaths you will ever see. In those regards it's successful. One of the best death scenes has a guy being crushed to death on his own weight bench! The scene reaches the excruciating point when the killer (unknown at the time) drops a weight into the victims crotch, moments before the weights they're lifting crushes their neck! Talk about a brutal work out! Some of the death scenes have bad editing (maybe thats all the footage they had to work with after all the years) but it isn't a problem for all of them. Most of the special effects are pretty good.In the end, this movie isn't for everyone. It helps if you're into the early 80's Slasher scene. If you find any of that to be silly or annoying, then this movie isn't for you. Some of the story elements are pretty creative but some times all the twists and turns become a little tiresome through the film. I recommend this movies to only the die hard Slasher fans. Passing Horror fans might want to skip this one.I personally found it to be a little enjoyable. This movie is for fans of FRIDAY THE 13TH, MY BLOODY VALENTINE, THE BURNING and HALLOWEEN.To those fans I say, "check it out."

my 4 year old finished the game within 24 hours

Too easy for my 4 year old. She doesn't play her DS all the time either, so I'm assuming it would be too easy for most kids. We received the package around 3 on Friday and she had finished the game by noon the next day. Total play time was probably an hour maybe 2. they should really have age ranges on these games instead of E for everyone.

Happy Birthday is Kyle Thomas (aka King Tuff), Chris Weisman, and Ruth Garbus. They formed in November 2008 to play one show at the punk-space "Tinderbox" (RIP), in their hometown Brattleboro, Vermont. They enjoyed playing with each other so much that they decided to keep doing it.
