Birthday Party Planning Mistakes
As business consultants we are often asked about the differences between a company's marketing network and a home party plan company. Both types of independent companies sales representatives earn commissions on personal sales and rebates on sales of others. However, there are important differences between them in the naming conventions, sales techniques, compensation, productivity, and client characteristics.
Conventions Naming
Network Marketing companies tend to refer to its sales representatives, distributors, partners, IBO, and independent agents. These are men sounding words with action implied. It is no coincidence that the average network marketing sales representative is a man.
The companies plan to use terms such as Home party consultant, demonstrator, stylist, and counselor. These are feminine terms. About 98% of representatives home parties are women.
In building your business, consider the composition of its sales force. If most men or most will be women would be useful to a representative of a name of which it meets them.
Sales Techniques
Network representatives Marketing often sell products and services one by one, while representatives of the parties plan to use source of an entire sales group approach.
If your products sell best when it is shown or explained, a home party plan format can be a good choice for you.
However, if an average group of potential customers less than 80% will buy at least one element, then the home party plan format may not work well for you.
