A little bit of wow!

This book has a few really nice ideas and pictures. Good explanation is given to what is used to create these beautiful things. The venues also make all the difference in the way the pictures and ideas are brought to life. I really don't see these ideas looking as sharp & gorgeous done in the average party or hotel banquet room....an upscale & trendy venue would best suit most of these ideas. Make no mistakes... you will WOW your guests. I am a home based planner and have found the ideas very interesting and I add my own flair.

This book is great for many ideas when planning big birthday bashes. David Tutera is a genious when it comes to decor and innovative ideas. I purchased this book to get ideas for my 30th birthday bash and it was very useful!

We got this for our 11yr old daughter. She is a true planner at heart and planning parties is right up her ally. She was thrilled when she opened this and got right to work. Unfortunately, the notepads all fell off the folder and the binding is ripping on the book, it is paper and carboard. I'm sure she will still get a lot of use out of it.

This book was well worth the $10 I paid for it. It has lots of fun ideas and easy recipes. The only problem is you need a copier machine to make most of the craft ideas. It also doesn't have color photos but it is still nice.

I purchased several party planning books for my son's 4th birthday. This book was by far the best. There are great ideas, recipes, games, projects, treats, you name it, this book has it. It does not have a bunch of dressed up glossy pictures. It does have lots of photo copy pages for invites, games and decorations. The suggestions cover a wide range of ages as well.

I very rarely write reviews, but this book is so great that I felt it deserved it. So many ideas that I never even thought of and step by step ways to incorporate them into the party. I took this out of the library but definitely want to buy it so I always have it on hand. This book also has a lot of fun recipes and games that don't have to wait for a birthday party.Very highly recommended

Well-organized and Comprehensive--One of the Best I've Seen

From Pittsburgh Parent (Beth A. Lawry) This book is still one of the best resources on party giving that I've seen. Hit of the Party is a well-organized and comprehensive party planner for children ages 1-10. I particularly liked the outline format. Headings are clear and let you skim through to find the sections you want. The introduction is well thought out and includes extremely helpful tips. Individual chapters include complete plans for 12 theme parties ranging from pirates to fairy tales, safaris to space. Four appendices in the back compile recipes, cake tips, crafts and games. Vangsgard also gets high marks for including photocopy-able lists and artwork, age ranges for activities and crafts and preparation times.

A brilliant response to the outrageous practice of appointing "czars" to circumvent those pesky constitutional constraints on administrative actions. These represent a wealth of interesting information, and the only hazard is that they may be so interesting as to distract attention from your poker betting strategy. A great gift for both sides of the aisle.

Playing Poker and Discussing Politics? Yikes!

This deck of cards has a lot of interesting information on each card. it can trigger a lively debate so be careful! It is not for the politically sensitive but it makes for a lively conversaton over a good game of cards. A group of us played Texas Hold'em with these cards and it was great fun. Because we are not die-hard poker players, it was interesting to discuss the cards and the interesting facts on the cards. Someone put a lot of time into developing each card. I agree these are perfect give-aways for something unique and different.The only thing I would do is make the numbers bigger for those who need glasses.
